By the time power snowplows reached the Eifel the American fighter-bombers were strafing and bombing every large vehicle that moved. Horse-drawn snowplows were few and ineffective, hastily erected snow fences were torn down by troops scrounging for firewood, there was no gravel available, and a large number of the engineer construction battalions had been taken west for employment as infantry. Snow began to drift in the Eifel hills, bringing traffic on the main supply roads west of the Rhine almost to a standstill. The dramatic change of the 23d, brought by cold, dry winds from the east, stripped the German armies of their immunity to air attack. In the north the Sixth Panzer Army was bogged by rain and mud, in the south the Fifth Panzer Army was hampered in its swing around Bastogne by fog and snow, and along the German supply roads back over the Eifel snow fell continuously. By the 22d competing weather systems from Russia and the Atlantic had brought on a hodgepodge of snow, blizzards, fog, and rain. On the 20th and 21st the higher ground began to freeze in patches, leaving stretches of the Ardennes roads slippery and muddy. A thaw set in which slowed his tanks and the erstwhile heavy ground fog began to show sudden openings, such as those which exposed the German tanks and infantry during the fight at Noville. The high pressure system which came in from the Atlantic on 18 December, however, worked momentarily against the attacker. This type of weather had a useful side effect during the rupture of the American lines since it veiled the attacker with fog and mist, a very important feature of the initial German successes just as it had been in the great offensives of 1918. The German selection of a target date for the commencement of the Ardennes offensive turned on the prediction of poor flying weather. There is an axiom that weather on the battlefield is divided equally between the combatants-but its impact on military operations is not equal in amount or direction. If you want the High Voltage Resonance effect, consider swapping Xiangling for Lisa. Razor needs to be close to foes in almost every case as it is, so it’s an easy way to get the Electro-Charged Reaction. Barbara is there for healing and because her Skill applies Hydro to enemies in close proximity to you, even after Barbara leaves the field. Xiangling functions the same as she would in the paid team, and Kaeya works essentially like a Cryo Xiangling. Razor’s F2P team functions almost as effectively as the ideal team with characters you recruit just by playing the game. If you don’t want to spend any Primogems, you’re in luck. Electro-Charged has the added benefit of spreading to other, nearby foes as well. Xiangling is an excellent, and free, choice, though Xiangqiu’s Rain Swords tend to last longer. The final slot should go to someone whose Elemental abilities linger after you swap to a different character. If you have Zhongli, consider trying him instead. Some players prefer Zhongli over Diona for support, since his abilities lower physical and elemental resistance. The Superconduct Reaction lowers enemy physical defense, which is handy for Razor’s normal attacks. The ideal order would be using Diona’s Burst, then Xiangling’s or Xiangqiu’s to trigger Reactions, followed by Razor’s to deal heavy damage, and then the Shogun’s to finish off anything that might be left.ĭiona is, as always, a solid Cryo support choice since she provides shields with her Skill and healing through her Burst, which has the added bonus of lingering on the field and dealing Cryo damage for several seconds. She increases the party’s Energy Recharge and deals heavy damage after other team members use their Bursts. There’s no shortage of Electro characters to experiment with, but you’ll get the most out of Raiden Shogun. It’s worth adding another Electro character to activate the High Voltage Resonance effect, which generates Energy Particles whenever you trigger an Electro-based Elemental Reaction. If you’re lucky enough to unlock Razor’s first Constellation, picking up Energy Particles buffs Razor’s attack by 10 percent. His Skill creates a small Electro shockwave and generates a sigil that restores his health, while his Burst imbues all attacks with Electro and boosts attack speed. Razor might be purely a DPS character, but he’s flexible enough to work with any party. What is the best Razor team comp in Genshin Impact? Version 2.6 "Zephyr of the Violet Garden" Trailer | Genshin Impact Razor works best with a support party, one that lets him deal high damage and trigger Reactions to wear foes down. Regardless of whether you’re a free player or throw Primogems around like nobody’s business, the same guiding principles remain. The best Genshin Impact Razor team comp is more flexible than most, thanks to Razor’s highly adaptable skills. Krause urged school libraries in Texas to report whether they had any of the books, including titles such as Mikki Kendall’s 2020 nonfiction work “Hood Feminism,” Kalynn Bayron’s 2020 young adult novel “Cinderella Is Dead” and Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely’s 2015 young adult novel “All American Boys.” A school district in San Antonio removed more than 400 books that were on Krause’s list last month. Matt Krause, a Republican, released a list of about 850 books that he claimed “make students feel discomfort” due to their content about race and sexuality. “That their own stories and their own lives aren’t fit for consumption, either.” “When the vast majority of stories being censored and being called things like ‘dangerous’ tell the stories of historically marginalized communities, that directly reflects on students,” Pelizzari said. Nora Pelizzari, the director of communications for the National Coalition Against Censorship, an organization advocating against censorship on all media platforms, said the challenges are “damaging to all stakeholders.” Pelizzari said educators are forced to either comply or face consequences for protesting it, while students are deprived of narratives that reflect their real lives. Critical Race TheoryĪt least nine states in mostly Republican areas have passed bills barring educators from teaching about racism in the classroom, and many parents and school boards in these states are doubling down on removing books that tell the stories of LGBTQ people and communities of color from local and school libraries. “Using censorship as a tool is a denial of that liberty, particularly the liberty of the young people who are targeted by these book bans,” Caldwell-Stone said. These challenges are also a violation of First Amendment rights, she said. “We’re particularly disheartened that elected officials who do have a duty to uphold the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are pressing forward with efforts to remove these books, as well.” “We’re disheartened that there is this organized campaign to remove the voices of marginalized communities from the shelves of school libraries,” Caldwell-Stone said. … Reading is fundamental, but context is everything, thus it’s sad to see these schools and parents caught in a game of telephone.” "New Kid" and "Class Act" by Jerry Craft.ĭeborah Caldwell-Stone, the director of ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom, said many of these book challenges are driven by social media and target stories about people of color. “I had to go back and reread my own book to determine if we’re reading the same story. “It’s hurtful to go through this, to be considered such a monster, allegedly corrupting children,” Jackson wrote in an email. Jackson said the attacks on her work are distressing. Since September alone, there have been at least 230 challenges, the organization said in an email.įight for Schools, a local advocacy group calling for the removal of critical race theory from school curriculums, posted on Twitter several clips of outraged parents at a school board meeting reading short passages from “Monday’s Not Coming” containing sexual situations. The American Library Association said its Office for Intellectual Freedom reported 273 books were affected by censorship attempts in 2020, many with content that highlighted race, gender and sexuality. (Most of the books that are targeted for bans don’t teach critical race theory but are written by and about people of color.). While the Texas school district reinstated the book and rescheduled his visit, Craft is among dozens of Black authors whose works are being pulled from school libraries under the pretext that they’re teaching critical race theory. “Apparently I’m teaching critical race theory,” Craft wrote in response to a parent confused about the ban, citing the decades-old academic and legal framework that teaches about racism in America. A now-deleted petition with more than 400 signatures showed parents calling for Craft’s visit to be canceled.Īt the time, Craft tweeted that he was shocked by the accusations. In October, the Katy Independent School District made headlines for temporarily yanking two of Craft’s books, which tell the stories of Black boys who experience racism in schools, from school libraries and postponing his virtual visit. The person who sent the message to Craft is from Katy, Texas, a town near Houston that has been under fire for attempts to limit the public’s access to books that teach about racism. Actions are an advanced feature in our graphing calculator that you must enable at the account level. This year, I had them make original pictures. They had to print out their picture and color it, put it on construction paper and print out all their equations (usually 100-600 equations, although I didn't put a number on them) and then their algebra work to solve the systems. Then, they would have to do out two systems of equations - one conic and non-conic and 2 conic intersections. I used to have the students find a picture, drag it in and write the equations to make the picture. I also wanted to use just tech and not paper.
